A must to visit close by is the Calvaire du Mont Arès, built in the second half of the 19th century, with it's 11 chapels spread out on top of a hill. Four of them represent the scenes of the Passion of Christ. The other seven represent the stations of the cross close to the ancient monastery.

Lovers of crosscountry skiing will adore the domaine de Nistos, just 35 minutes away, with it's 8 runs of almost 50 kms and it's snowshoe trail, superb panoramic view whether summer or winter, towards the Pic du Midi de Bigorre, l'Arbizon, the frontier peaks of the Luchonnais, the Anéto - Maladetta as well as the peaks of the Haute Garonne and Ariège in the background.
At 15 minutes, let yourself be swallowed up in the history of the St Bertrand de Comminges cathedral, constructed on the lower part of the gallo-roman town, and
Saint-Just de Valcabrère, roman edifice
from the XIth and XIIth centuries.
At 35 minutes away, the alpine ski resorts of Peyragudes, in the Louron valley or St Lary in the Aure valley, with the possibility to visit the dams of Cap de Long and Orédon. Spain is close by through the Bielsa tunnel.
Taking the Lourdes direction (40 minutes), you can stop at Tarbes, town of the horse (30 minutes).
